Camshaft: Service and Repair
Removal

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect breather and secondary air hoses.
3. Remove water pump and crankshaft pulleys, then the timing belt cover.
4. Move timing belt tensioner fully toward water pump, then secure in place.
5. Remove timing belt from camshaft sprocket. Do not remove belt from crankshaft sprocket.
6. Remove camshaft sprocket and distributor.
7. Remove rocker cover, then the rocker shaft assembly.
8. Remove camshaft bearing caps, then the camshaft.
