Valve Clearance: Adjustments
1. With engine at normal operating temperature, remove rocker arm cover.
2. Position No. 1 piston at TDC compression stroke.
3. With engine in this firing position, move rocker arms up and down by hand. Measure and adjust valve clearance of rocker arms that are movable.
To adjust valves, proceed as follows:
a. Loosen locknut, then turn adjusting screw until specified feeler gauge can be positioned between valve stem and screw.
b. While holding adjusting screw in position, tighten locknut.
4. Rotate engine 360° and repeat step 3.
5. After adjustment is completed, install rocker arm cover.
