SERVICE PROCEDURE (except California Residents)
This TSB has been revised to include new Campaign Operation codes and updated part numbers.
ECM EPROM Replacement
Some 1993 and 1994 Scoupes may set a check engine light with no fault code stored. To correct this condition the EPROM must be replaced inside the
Engine Control Module. Below are the instructions for replacing the EPROM in the Naturally Aspirated and Turbocharged models. Some California
specification vehicles may now be operated in federal areas. These vehicles can be identified by their underhood emission sticker and require the
appropriate California specification EPROM (refer to the parts information chart).
Naturally Aspirated
1.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the Engine Control Module (ECM) from the vehicle following the instructions in the Shop Manual.
2.
With the bottom side up on the ECM, bend the ten tabs straight up to release the cover from the base and separate.
3.
Locate the EPROM. It is located under the removable white retainer. Remove the white retainer. Lift the EPROM from the socket straight up with
equal pressure.
