This bulletin supersedes TSB # 04-40-006-1 to update Model Year.
DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides a procedure to reprogram the transaxle control module (1CM) software in 2003-2004 MY Sonata vehicles with 2.7L engines using
the Hi-Scan Pro.
The Sonata 2.7L TCM reprogramming provides the following refinement updates:

Reduced 2-3 shift flare (engine speed increases during the 2-3 shift) during the first acceleration after a cold engine start
^
1-2 and 2-3 shift quality improvement (harsh shift improvement)
^
Delayed shift feeling improved (from park to drive or park to reverse)

CAUTIONS BEFORE REPROGRAMMING:
1.
Conduct reprogramming with the ignition key in the "ON" position.
2.
Be careful not to disconnect any cables connected to the vehicle or Hi-Scan Pro during reprogramming.
