Idle Position Switch: Adjustments
NOTE: Since the Idle Switch (Fixed SAS) is adjusted at the factory, it is not necessary to adjust during normal service except for replacement.
Accelerator Cable Adjustment
1.
Loosen the tension of the accelerator cable.

Disconnect the idle switch connector.

Loosen the idle switch lock nut.
4.
Turn the idle switch counter clockwise until the throttle valve closes.
5.
Connect an ohmmeter between the terminal of the idle switch and the throttle body.
6.
Screw in the idle switch until continuity is found between the switch terminal and the throttle body. Screw in the idle switch an additional 1 and
1/4 turns from that point.
7.
Tighten the lock nut and connect the idle switch connector.
NOTE: Insure that the idle switch does not move while tightening the lock nut.
8.
Adjust the curb idle speed, see IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT SCREW (SAS).
9.
Adjust the accelerator cable, see SPECIFICATIONS.
10.
Adjust the TPS, see THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS).
