OXYGEN SENSOR CONTAMINATION
Rust penetrant oil, such as Hyundai Rust Penetrant or WD-40, can contaminate the oxygen sensor and affect vehicle emissions. If rust penetrant must be
used to remove the oxygen sensor, the sensor must be discarded. Before installing a new oxygen sensor, apply anti-seize compound on the threads.
When using a silicone-based sealant during engine repair or rebuild, use only those approved for use on oxygen sensor equipped vehicles.
