DESCRIPTION:
When referencing service literature or scan tool data, the orientation / location of components is as follows:
1.
Bank # 1 of the engine is the bank of cylinders closest to the dash panel.
2.
Bank # 2 of the engine is the bank of cylinders closest to the radiator.
3.
Cylinders 1, 3 and 5 are the cylinders on Bank # 1.
4.
Cylinders 2, 4 and 6 are the cylinders on Bank # 2.
5.
Each bank of cylinders has two oxygen sensors (for a total of four). Bank # 1 has an upstream (B1/S1) oxygen sensor and a downstream (B1/S2)
oxygen sensor.
6.
Bank # 2 has an upstream (B2/S1) oxygen sensor and a downstream (B2/S2) oxygen sensor.
