Some replacement starters may contain the short stud.

If the vehicle being repaired has a heat shield and the replacement starter is not equipped with the "Long Heat Shield Mounting Stud", remove the stud
from the starter being replaced and install the "Long Heat Shield Mounting Stud with Spacer" on the replacement starter.
