CV Shaft - Shudder or Vibration During Acceleration
Group: CHASSIS
Number: 99-50-007
Date: APRIL, 1999
Model: 1999 SONATA
Subject
1999 SONATA SHUDDER OR VIBRATION DURING ACCELERATION
DESCRIPTION:
Some 1999 Sonata vehicles may shudder or vibrate during hard, full throttle acceleration due to a sticking inboard CV - Tripod joint assembly.
To correct this condition, replace the right side (passenger side) CV shaft. (see figure 1)
NOTE: The right side CV shaft is approximately 20 mm shorter than the left side CV shaft, therefore, this condition is more likely to be associated with
the greater angle experienced by the right side CV shaft.
PART INFORMATION:
Refer to parts catalog for applicable complete CV shaft assembly (including both inboard and outboard joints).
