Combination Switch: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

CAUTION:  The SRS system is designed to retain enough power to deploy the air bag for about 30 seconds even after the battery has been
disconnected, so serious injury may result from unintended air bag deployment if service is done on the SRS system immediately after the battery
cable is disconnected.

2. Remove the air bag module mounting nut and disconnect the connector from air bag module.
3. Remove the air bag module and put it in a clean and dry place with the pad cover face up.

4. Remove the steering wheel by using a steering wheel puller.
5. Remove the steering column lower and upper shroud.

6. Remove the multifunction switch mounting screws.
7. Disconnect the harness connector.

CAUTION:  
Make sure the wire leads are not being pulled when you move the lever.
Check that lever works freely without binding.

8. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
