Remove the retaining clip securing the parking brake cable casing to the backing plate.

Remove the backing plate.
11.
Transfer the wheel cylinder from the old backing plate to the new backing plate.
Wheel cylinder tightening torque: 9-13 lb.ft (12-18 Nm, 120-180 Kg.cm)
12.
Position the backing plate onto the rear axle carrier.
13.
Reinstall the hub and bearing assembly.
Tightening torque: 52-62 lb.ft (70-90 Nm, 700-900 Kg.cm)
14.
Apply the specified grease to the shoe and backing plate and the shoe and anchor plate contact surfaces.
Recommended grease: Multipurpose grease SAE J310,NLGI No.2
15.
Install the new brake shoes.
NOTE
All stock in the PDCs are the new shoes.
16.
Reconnect the parking brake cable.
17.
Reconnect the brake hydraulic line.
18.
Adjust the outside dimension of the shoes by turning the auto adjuster to achieve 8.96-8.98 in (227.6-228.1 mm).
