DESCRIPTION
Some 1999-2001 Sonata vehicles' automatic transaxles may transmit a whining noise through the transaxle shift cable when accelerating or decelerating
at light throttle or driving at a steady speed at 25-40 mph.
This bulletin provides a procedure for installation of a mass damper on the automatic transaxle shift cable to minimize noise that may be transmitted
through the shift cable.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1.
Record the customer's radio stations. Disconnect the battery cables and remove the battery.

Disconnect the PCV hose for the air intake air duct.
