Is the inspection result normal?
YES  - GO TO 10.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts.
10.CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN FUSE BLOCK (J/B) AND STOP LAMP SWITCH (PART 2)
Check continuity between fuse block (J/B) vehicle side harness connector terminal and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES  - GO TO 11.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts.
11.DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
Check the following.
-

Harness for short or open between ignition switch and fuse block (J/B). .

Ignition switch

-

10A fuse [No.3, located in the fuse block (J/B)]. See: Maintenance/Fuses and Circuit Breakers/Fuse Block/Diagrams.

Fuse block (J/B)

Is the inspection result normal?
YES  - Check intermittent incident.  See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Intermittent Incident.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts.

12. CHECK INSTALLATION POSITION OF STOP LAMP SWITCH

Adjust stop lamp switch position.  See: Brakes and Traction Control/Brake Pedal Assy/Service and Repair/Inspection and Adjustment.
- GO TO 13.
13.CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH (PART 2)
Check stop lamp switch.  See: Component Inspection (Stop Lamp Switch).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES  - INSPECTION END
NO - Replace stop lamp switch.  See: Brakes and Traction Control/Brake Pedal Assy/Service and Repair/Exploded View.

Component Inspection (Shift Lock Solenoid)

1.CHECK SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID
Apply voltage to terminals 3 and 4 of shift lock unit connector, and then check that shift lock solenoid is activated.

CAUTION:
Connect the fuse between the terminals when applying the voltage.

Can the lock plate be moved up and down?
YES  - INSPECTION END
NO - Replace shift lock unit.  See: Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/7AT RE7R01B/A/T Shift Selector/Exploded View.
