Air/Fuel Mixture: Adjustments

Air/fuel mixture is not adjustable. The following procedure will describe inspection of the mixture ratio feedback system.

1.

Start the engine and warm it up until the water temperature indicator points to the middle of the gauge.

2.

Operate the engine at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes under no load.

Turn the diagnostic mode selector on the E.C.U. (located on the floor board in front of the center console) fully clockwise and wait for at least 2
seconds, then immediately turn the selector counterclockwise. The ECCS system is now in mixture ratio feedback inspection mode.

4.

Check the diode at the ECU.
The diode should flash more than 5 times during 10 seconds at 2000 rpm.

a. If OK, air/fuel mixture is correct, proceed step 5. 
b. If not OK, Refer to Computers and Control Systems for further testing.

5.

Turn the engine off.
This will return the ECCS system to mode 1, normal operating mode.
