Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair

NOTE:  If wheel hub bearing assembly is removed, it must be replaced.

1.

Raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove brake caliper assembly, then rotor.

3.

Remove wheel bearing lock nut, then bearing and hub assembly.

4.

Remove inner and outer snap rings from knuckle.

5.

Press out bearing outer race.

6.

Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Tighten wheel bearing lock nut to specifications.
b. Wheel bearing end play should be 0.0020 inch or less.
