    After driveshaft has been assembled, ensure it moves smoothly over the entire range without binding.

OUTER JOINT

1.

Install boot and new small boot band on driveshaft.

2.

Install assembly onto driveshaft by lightly tapping.

3.

Install joint assembly securely, ensuring marks made during removal are properly aligned.

4.

Pack joint with 3.6-4.2 ounces of Nissan genuine CV joint grease or equivalent.

5.

Ensure boot is properly installed on driveshaft groove. Set boot so it does not swell and deform when it length is 3.96 inch. Fig. 9.

6.

Lock new boot bands securely with a suitable tool.

INNER JOINT

1.

Cover splines with tape and install boot and a new small band.

2.

Pack joint with 4.7-5.4 ounces of Nissan genuine CV joint grease or equivalent.

3.

Install slide joint housing.

4.

Ensure boot is properly installed on driveshaft groove.

5.

Set boot so it does not swell and deform when its length is 3.86 inches. Fig. 9.

6.

Lock new boot bands with suitable tool.

SUPPORT BEARING

1.

Press bearing into retainer.

2.

Press driveshaft into bearing.

3.

Install snap ring and new dust shield.
