Brake Booster
Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
CAUTION:

Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas such as body. It may cause paint damage. If brake fluid is splashed on painted surfaces of
body, wipe it off with cloth immediately and then, wash it away with water.

Be careful not to deform or bend brake piping while removing and installing brake booster.

Replace clevis pin if it is damaged.

Be careful not to damage brake booster stud bolt threads. If brake booster is tilted or inclined during installation, dash panel may damage the
threads.

Be sure to install check valve in the correct orientation.
1. Remove vacuum hose from brake booster.
2. Remove master cylinder. Refer to "Removal and Installation".
3. Remove snap pin and clevis pin on the clevis of the brake booster, and remove input rod from brake pedal. Refer to "COMPONENT PARTS
LOCATION".
4. Remove brake pedal mounting nuts on pedal bracket.
5. Remove brake booster assembly from dash panel.
INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL
Output Rod Length Inspection
1. Using a handy vacuum pump, apply a vacuum of -66.7 kPa (-500 mm Hg, -19.69 inch Hg) to brake booster.
2. Check output rod length.
Standard dimension when vacuuming -66.7 kPa (-500 mmHg, -19.69 inch Hg)
2WD: 30.5 mm (1.20 inch)
AWD: 6.2 mm (0.24 inch)
