1.

Write down radio pre-sets.

2.

Turn the ignition OFF.

3.

Disconnect the battery cables (negative cable first) and Wait for at least 3 minutes.

4.

Remove the air bag module from the steering wheel.

Refer to section RS in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for air bag module removal information. Make sure to follow all WARNINGS
and CAUTIONS.

DO NOT drop, tilt or bump the air bag module. Always handle it with care.

5.

Remove the steering wheel.

Refer to section PS in the ESM for steering wheel removal information.

Make sure to mark the steering wheel and steering shaft so you can put the steering wheel back on in the same position.

6.

Place the steering wheel on a clean soft working surface.

7.

Apply a piece of tape as shown in Figure 1 to hold the spiral cable in place.
