Infiniti Workshop Service and Repair Manuals

1. Drain gear oil. Refer to See: Fluid - Differential/Service and Repair/Rear Final Drive R200/Draining.
2. Make a judgment if a collapsible spacer replacement is required.
3. Remove center muffler with a power tool. Refer to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Exploded View.

4. Remove rear wheel sensor. Refer to See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Wheel Speed Sensor/Service

and Repair/Wheel Sensor/Exploded View.

5. Remove drive shaft from final drive. Then suspend it by wire, etc. Refer to See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service

and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Drive Shaft/Exploded View.

6. Install attachment to side flange, and then pull out the side flange with the sliding hammer.

B : Sliding hammer [SST: ST36230000 (J-25840-A)]

7. Remove rear propeller shaft. Refer to See: Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and Joints/Drive/Propeller Shaft/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Rear Propeller Shaft/Exploded View.

8. Measure the total preload with the preload gauge (A) [SST:
ST3127S000 (J-25765-A)].

NOTE:
Record the preload measurement.
