Re-install the wire harness eye-loop terminal and the audio noise suppression condenser wire eye-loop terminal (if equipped) to the alternator "B"
terminal (see Figure 13).

Tighten the alternator "B" terminal nut to 7.84-10.78 N.m (0.80-1.10 kg-m, 69.4 - 95.5 in-lb).

Re-attach the alternator wire harness protective cover. Tighten the mounting bolt to 5.1 N.m (0.52 kg-m, 3.8 ft-lb).

Re-attach the engine wire harness protective cover and condenser (see Figure 13). Tighten the mounting bolt to 5.1 N.m (0.52 kg-m, 3.8 ft-lb).

32.

Re-insert the engine wire harness protective cover clip on to the harness support bracket (see Figure 4).

33.

Re-install the intake collector plastic cover.

34.

Re-install the intake air duct and re-connect the air temperature sensor connector.

35.

Re-connect the negative battery cable.

36.

Re-program the radio station pre-sets.

37.

Re-set the interior clock.

38.

Start the vehicle and confirm the alternator charge light (in the instrument display) goes out.

I30 Alternator Replacement Procedure

1.

Install fender covers on the vehicle.

2.

Record the radio station pre-sets.

3.

Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

4.

Raise the vehicle on a hoist and remove the passenger side lower and side engine plastic covers.
