ROCKER COVER

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Remove engine room cover (RH and LH).  See: Access Cover/Service and Repair/Component.
2. Remove engine cover.  See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold Collector/Component See: Intake Manifold/Service and

Repair/Intake Manifold Collector/Removal and Installation.

3. Remove intake manifold collector.  See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold Collector/Component See: Intake Manifold/Service

and Repair/Intake Manifold Collector/Removal and Installation.

4. Separate engine harness removing their brackets from rocker covers.
5. Remove ignition coil.  See: Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Component See: Powertrain

Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Removal and Installation.

6. Remove camshaft position sensor and exhaust valve timing control position sensor.

A: Keep off any magnetic materials

CAUTION:
-

Handle carefully to avoid dropping and shocks.

-

Never disassemble.

-

Never allow metal powder to adhere to magnetic part at sensor tip.

-

Never place sensors in a location where they are exceed to magnetism.

7. Remove PCV hoses from rocker covers.
8. Remove PCV valve and O-ring from rocker cover, if necessary.
9. Remove oil filler cap from rocker cover, if necessary.

10. Loosen mounting bolts with power tool in reverse order as shown in the figure.
