SPARK PLUG (IRIDIUM-TIPPED TYPE)

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Remove engine cover with power tool.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold

2. Remove ignition coil.  See: Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Component See: Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Removal and Installation.

3. Remove spark plug using spark plug wrench (commercial service tool).

a: 14 mm (0.55 in)

CAUTION:
Never drop or shock spark plug.

INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL

Gap (Nominal): 1.1 mm (0.043 in)

CAUTION:

Never drop or shock spark plug.

Never use wire brush for cleaning.

-

If plug tip is covered with carbon, spark plug cleaner may be used.

Cleaner air pressure: Less than 588 kPa (6 kg/cm2, 85 psi)
Cleaning time: Less than 20 seconds
