SERVICE INFORMATION
2011 M37 and M56 vehicles come equipped with a new version of Intelligent Key (I-Key) presets memory.
The systems that work with I-Key presets are:
^ Automatic Drive Positioner (includes driver seat, steering, and mirror position memory)
^ Auto Air conditioning and heating (retains the last temperature and mode settings)
^ Audio (station presets, etc.)
^ Navigation system (retains the last settings i.e., Bird's Eye, etc.)
Each I-Key can be programmed to have its own unique set of presets for each system.
IMPORTANT:
The vehicle will maintain the presets of the last I-Key used even if a different I-Key is used to start the vehicle.
To get the vehicle to reset the presets to a different I-Key you must either:
^ Depress the driver door request switch for unlock input (with the different I-Key in range)
^ Press the unlock button on the different I-Key itself.
Once this is done, the vehicle will then recognize that different I-Key and set that I-Key's presets in the vehicle.
^ If a customer says their I-Key loses their personal system presets at times, explain this operation. If the vehicle is entered without unlocking the door
by I-Key fob or driver door request switch, the engine will still start normally. But the unique presets of that I-Key will not be recognized if a different
registered I-Key was used previously.
To set up I-Key presets memory, refer to the Owner's Manual, Section 3, Pre-driving checks and adjustments, Linking Intelligent Key to a stored
memory position.
