2006 M; RATTLE NOISE FROM PARKING BRAKE CABLE

IF YOU CONFIRM

There is a rattle noise from the rear of the vehicle when driving over speed bumps at speeds of 5 to 10 mph

AND

The noise is eliminated when the parking brake cable tension is increased by partially applying the parking brake.

ACTION

1.

Adjust the parking brake cable as per Service Procedure of this bulletin.

2.

Lubricate the parking brake cable Equalizer (9) as per Service Procedure as seen in Figure 1 shown.

3.

Confirm the rattle noise is no longer present.
