Use suitable covers to protect upholstery, carpeting, etc. when performing the following procedure.

Use extreme care when removing/handling the sunshade assembly as many of its components (shade cloth, arms, etc.) can be easily damaged.

Sunshade Plastic Bracket Inspection Procedure

Determine if either one of the plastic brackets is cracked or broken as follows:

1.

Turn the ignition key to the accessory ("ACC") position.

2.

Raise the rear sunshade to the middle of the rear glass as follows:

A.

Place your hand at the vertical mid-section of the rear glass (see Figure 1).

B.

Press the sunshade activation button located under the arm rest in the rear center console (see Figure 1).

C.

The sunshade will stop when it contacts your hand.

CAUTION:

Do not pull forward on the sunshade assembly as the arms can bend.

NOTE:

You may have to gently pull up on the sunshade to get it to move upward to the desired position.

3.

Go outside and look through the rear glass to inspect the condition of the two plastic brackets.

A.

If either of the brackets are cracked or broken (see Figure 2), perform the "Sunshade Plastic Bracket Replacement Procedure" in this
bulletin.
