If the brackets are not cracked or broken (see Figure 2), this bulletin does not apply. Refer to the 2002 Q45 Electronic Service Manual
(ESM) for further diagnosis.

Sunshade Plastic Bracket Replacement Procedure

Replace both sunshade plastic brackets one at a time as follows:

1.

Lower the sunshade by pressing the sunshade activation button (located under the arm rest in the rear center console).

2.

Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.

3.

Remove the rear parcel shelf trim panel. Refer to pages EI-40 and EI-41 of the 2002 Q45 ESM for the parcel shelf trim panel removal procedure.

4.

Remove the six bolts that secure the sunshade assembly to the parcel shelf structure (see Figure 3).

NOTE:

Do not disconnect the vehicle wire harness from the sunshade assembly at this time.

5.

Lift up the sunshade assembly and carefully move it towards the front of the vehicle as much as the wire harness will safely allow.

CAUTION:

Do not pull on the wire harness as this can damage the harness and the sunshade connector.
