SERVICE INFORMATION
If one of the applied models equipped with power rear seats has the following symptom:
^
a metal-to-metal grinding noise is heard when adjusting the left or right rear power seat
The cause may be the seat back frame upper cross-bar/bracket rubbing against the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tether for Children system) bracket.
Use the Service Procedure below to identify and repair the incident, if it should occur.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Confirm and determine which side (right seat or left seat) has the incident.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to do both sides, if only one side has the incident.
2.
Remove the rear seat cushion and rear seat back assembly (refer to Figure 1).
3.
Remove the LATCH bracket as follows (see Figure 1):
a.
Remove three bolts from LATCH bracket.
b.

4.
Locate the rubbing/contact point on the LATCH bracket. At this point the paint may be scraped off or the metal may be polished from abrasion
with the seat back frame.
