Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait (3) minutes. This will allow the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) to deactivate.

Remove the glove box as follows (also review 2002 Q45 ESM, BT [Body] Section/Instrument Panel/Instrument Panel Assembly/Removal and
Installation/IP-10 through IP-11 and IP-15 through IP-16):

A.

Using a cloth-covered, flat-headed screwdriver or spatula, remove the glove box upper woodgrain instrument finisher (see Figure 1).

B.

Disengage the left and right glove box straps.

C.

Pull the damper clips to the right side of vehicle and remove the glove box damper.

D.

Remove nine interior glove box screws.

E.

Disconnect the two electrical connectors (white) from the back of the glove box.

F.

Slide (DO NOT DISCONNECT) the yellow air bag connector from the back of the instrument lower cover.

G.

Remove the glove box retainer by removing the four bolts which hold it in place.

Remove the knee protector.

5.

Pull the CD changer out part way, disconnecting the CD changer connector, and remove the CD changer.

6.

Remove the ECM and TCM.

7.

Disconnect the blower motor, intake door motor, and auto amp. connectors.

8.

Remove three bolts from the blower unit (see Figure 2).
