SERVICE INFORMATION

If a 2002 Q45 pulls to the right while driving at highway speeds, please use the following information to identify and repair the incident, if it should
occur.

"Steering pull" can be defined as a consistent pull to one side on a straight and flat road while maintaining a consistent speed. Some pulling may be due
to road crown (slope). "Steering pull" due to road crown is more common in the South Central and South Eastern states. New bolt kits are available to
reduce such a road crown-related "pull" condition, if this condition should occur. The bolt kit includes a bolt, nut, and two eccentric washers (see Figure
1).

SERVICE PROCEDURE

NOTE:

Refer to ITB00-027 for additional information on diagnosis and repair of other "steering pull" conditions.

1.

Verify the steering pull to the right condition with a road test.

2.

Check the following and correct if required.

Wheels and tires are original equipment.

^

No abnormal wear or damage on tires and wheels.

^

No unusual load conditions.

3.

Check the tire pressure on all four tires. Inflate tires to 33 psi if required.

4.

Test drive to determine if the vehicle still pulls to the right.

5.

If the vehicle still pulls to the right, switch the front two (2) wheels by installing the right side wheel on the left side and visa versa. Test drive
again to check if the vehicle still pulls to the right.

6.

If the vehicle still pulls to the right, check steering rack sliding force. Refer to ITB00-027 for procedures on steering rack sliding force
measurement and adjustment. Test drive again to check if the vehicle still pulls to the right.

7.

If the vehicle still pulls to the right, check the alignment on all four (4) wheels. Take note of the front LH and RH caster angle values of the
