SERVICE INFORMATION

If the automatic transmission in the new Q45 (F50 model) requires service, a new type of automatic transmission fluid MUST be used. The new fluid is
Nissan Matic-J.

Nissan Matic-J

Only Nissan Matic-J automatic transmission fluid (P/N 999MP-MTJ00P) is specially formulated to meet the exacting requirements of Infiniti's new
5-speed automatic transmission (RE5R05A). This transmission contains new internal components that require the use of Nissan Matic-J only!

CAUTION:

Usage of Nissan Matic-D or any other automatic transmission fluid in the RE5R05A 5-speed automatic transmission will cause deterioration in
driveability and transmission durability.

Do NOT use any other fluid for the RE5R05A 5-speed automatic transmission, only use Nissan Matic-J. Use of any other fluid may result in damage to
the RE5R05A 5-speed automatic transmission, which will not be covered by the INFINITI warranty.

ATF Level Indicator

To prevent accidental use of ATF other than Nissan Matic-J, the new Q45 (F50) is not equipped with an ATF level indicator. For service and repair, the
level indicator will be supplied to all Infiniti dealers as an essential Special Service Tool (# J-45475). For replacements, please contact Tech-Mate at
1-800-662-2001. Please refer to the AT section of the 2002 Q45 Service Manual for the unique "A" fluid service procedures on the RE5R05A
transmission.

NOTE:

Nissan Matic-J is the ONLY approved ATF for repairs to Infiniti's new 5-speed automatic transmission (RE5R05A). A claim to Infiniti for warranty,
service contract or goodwill repairs to the RE5R05A transmission may be denied if genuine Nissan Matic-J ATF is not used as specified in this
bulletin.
