Locate the shift lock release lever plate (white plastic piece). See Figure 2.

Cut the shift lock release lever plate 10 mm (0.4 inch) from its outer edge and remove.

CAUTION: 

DO NOT cut the lever plate completely flush with the A/T shift finisher (see Figure 2).

5.

Verify the A/T shift selector lever has no interference when moving from PARK to REVERSE, and REVERSE to DRIVE.

6.

Re-install the A/T finisher.
