APPLIED VEHICLE:
All Q45 (G50) with Sony 10 disc autochanger
All J30 (JY32) with Sony 10 disc autochanger
All G20 (P10) with Sony 10 disc autochanger
SERVICE INFORMATION
If the magazine fails to eject from the CD autochanger after pressing the eject button (on the autochanger) and a compact disc is not stuck halfway
between the magazine and the CD mechanism, use the instructions in this bulletin to remove the stuck magazine.
Do not force the removal of the CDs if they are stuck in the mechanism or between the magazine and the mechanism (rollers); you may cause damage to
the autochanger and/or the mechanism as a result. Instead, record the condition as CD(s) are stuck' on the Audio One Information Sheet and as a note
attached to the autochanger and return the autochanger to the manufacturer. Sony will return all stuck discs to the dealer or customer if the customer
address is supplied.
To diagnose other autochanger incidents, refer to ITB95-061/EL95-006, dated October 18, 1995.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
All directions are written as if you are in the trunk looking at the top of the CD changer (side with the eject button).
1.
Use a ruler (or like item) at least 7 in. long, 1/2 in. wide and no more than 1/16 in. thick.
2.
Insert the ruler under the magazine 1 in. from the left side of the magazine.
3.
Slide the ruler to the left so it rests against the guide rail.
4.
Slide the ruler forward about 4 in. until you feel the lock lever release.
5.
Pull the magazine out with the ruler still inserted. If the magazine does not easily slide out, leave the magazine inside the changer.
6.
There may be some CDs partially stuck in the magazine. Make sure you do not damage them.
