SERVICE INFORMATION
Use the procedures in this bulletin to repair applied models if you confirm a double "thump-thump" sensation when coming to a stop. This incident, if it
occurs, happens after the customer accelerates the vehicle to 25 MPH and then gradually presses the brake pedal to stop the vehicle.
A replacement Transmission Control Module (TCM) with revised logic is now available for this incident. Please refer to the Service Procedure below to
verify the incident and, if necessary, install the replacement TCM from the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Drive the vehicle with the customer and look for the following characteristics to confirm this incident is the customer's concern:
a. Accelerate the vehicle to 25 MPH and then gradually press the brake pedal to stop the vehicle.
b. As the vehicle stops is a "thump-thump" sensation felt?

If the double "thump" is felt, proceed to step 2.

If not, perform additional diagnosis to determine the cause of the customer's concern.

Record the radio presets for later reprogramming.
3.
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Locate the TCM, inside the vehicle, under lower left side kick panel (see Figure 1).
5.
Remove the TCM from the incident vehicle.
6.
Install the TCM from the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
