Q45 V8-4494cc 4.5L DOHC (VH45) (1992)
Thickness Variation Using a micrometer, measure rotor thickness in at least eight (8) evenly spaced locations around the rotor. (Figure 2) The difference
between the largest and the smallest readings is the thickness variation.
Rotor Repair Limit:
Maximum Thickness Variation [Difference between largest thickness and smallest thickness] 0.01 mm (0.0004 in)
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1.
Turn rotors using the Ammco (PIN 68-710) "On-Car Brake Lathe." or equivalent On-Car Brake Lathe where the cutting tool attaches to the caliper
mount or knuckle.
NOTE:
The use of an On-Car Brake Lathe which does not attach to the caliper mount or an Off-Car Brake Lathe may not reduce rotor/hub run-out to the
specification required.
2.
Measure rotor lateral run-out and thickness variation. Confirm that rotor thickness is not less than minimum thickness (26.0 mm, 1.024 in).
3.
If run-out and thickness variation are below specification limits, reassemble (replace pads, if necessary) and road test to check brake performance.
4.
If run-out or thickness variation are above specification, repeat Steps 1 - 3.
