Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Component Testing Procedure

Fig. 203 Air Flow Meter Terminal Identification

1.

Fold back air flow meter harness connector insulating rubber, if necessary.

2.

Start and run engine until normal operating temperature is reached.

3.

Check voltage between terminal 1 and ground, Fig. 203.

4.

Voltage should be as follows:
a. With ignition switch On (engine stopped), less than .2 volt.
b. With engine at idle, 1.0-1.4 volts.

5.

If voltage is not as specified, remove air flow meter from air duct. Check hot wire for damage or dust.
