Confirm the electrical connectors are attached to the motor and that power is available to the motor (see Figure 1).

Conduct the following diagnosis on the incident seat and replace the power seat cable if any of these conditions are confirmed. If neither of the
conditions described below exist, use the appropriate Service Manual to further diagnose and repair the incident.

Visually inspect the power seat cable. If the cable is bent, replace it with the appropriate new part listed in the PARTS INFORMATION
section of this bulletin.

A grinding or grating type noise that occurs when operating the seat switch forward or backward is usually the result of unequal movement of
the seat bottom on its' tracks. Operate the power seat switch to move the seat forward and backward. Observe the movement of the right hand
side of the seat bottom on its' track compared to the left hand side of the seat bottom on its' track. If either side is moving at a faster rate than
the other, replace the cable with the appropriate new part listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin.

NOTE:

It is not necessary to remove the seat to replace the seat cable. The seat cable can be reached from the front foot well area when the seat is raised to
its highest position.

After installation, make sure the cable-end connectors are secure. Verity the seat moves forward and backward smoothly and no grinding or
grating noise is heard.
