Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming

Before Servicing the SRS

Before servicing the SRS, turn ignition switch "OFF", disconnect battery ground cable and wait at least 3 minutes.

For approximately 3 minutes after the cables are removed, it is still possible for the air bag and seat belt pre-tensioner to deploy. 

Therefore, do not work on any SRS connectors or wires until at least 3 minutes have passed.

CAUTION: Do not use electrical test equipment on any circuit related to the SRS unless instructed. SRS wiring harnesses are covered with yellow

insulation either just before the harness connectors or on the complete harness, for easy identification.

After Servicing the SRS

Connect both battery cables.

Conduct Self-Diagnosis to ensure entire SRS operates properly.
