3. Remove oil strainer from oil pan (upper).
4. Remove oil pan (upper).

a. Loosen bolts in reverse order of illustration to remove.

b. Using a suitable tool insert into the gap between cylinder block and front cover indicated by the arrow in illustration, and pry it. Remove oil

pan (upper). 

CAUTION:  Use care not to damage mating surface.

5. Remove O-rings from oil pump and front cover.

INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL
Clean oil strainer.

INSTALLATION
1. Install oil pan (upper) in the order.

a. Apply liquid gasket thoroughly as in illustration.

Use Genuine RTV Silicone Sealant or equivalent.

CAUTION:  Apply liquid gasket to outside of bolt hole for the hole shown by *.
