Replacement of Molded Type Rear Window

REPLACEMENT OF MOLDED TYPE REAR WINDOW

There are some models which have the molded type rear window.

The molded type rear window is normally preassembled with a single piece of molding. For service, glass is available separate from the molding.

1. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1

Condition: Body damaged. (Molding and window glass are reusable.)

REMOVAL

a. Remove rear seats and interior trim around rear window.
b. Cut sealant using a piano wire or glass remover knife to remove rear window with molding attached.
c. Take out the glass using glass holders.

CAUTION:  Be careful not to scratch molding and fastener when cutting or removing sealant. If scratched, replace with new ones.

d. Using a sharp knife, remove old adhesive to make even thickness surface of adhesive on the body.
e. Remove traces of sealant and dam rubber from window glass.
