the door does not latch when closing

the door outside handle cable (part of lock assembly) is stuck due to freezing

ACTION

Replace both front door lock assemblies (includes cables) and outside door handle brackets. Refer to the Service Procedure for details.

CLAIMS INFORMATION

Submit a Primary Part (PP) type line claim using the claims coding table shown.

PARTS INFORMATION

SERVICE PROCEDURE (follow this procedure for each door lock assembly).

NOTE:

Use suitable covers to protect upholstery carpet trim etc. when performing this procedure.

You will be replacing the door lock assemblies and outside door handle parts on both front doors.

Parts Removal

1.

Remove the door finisher.

Refer to section EI in the ESM for removal information.

2.

Remove the door glass.

Refer to section GW in the ESM for removal information.

3.

Remove the glass run rubber at the rear of the window.

Refer to section GW in the ESM for run rubber illustration.

Replace Door Lock Assembly and Outside Handle Bracket

4.

Remove the old door lock assembly and outside handle bracket.

Refer to section BL in the ESM.

5.

Install the new parts specified in the Parts Information table.
