Place a reference mark on the rotor and hub (see Figure A).

Measure rotor runout with a dial indicator (see Figure B).

If the runout is below 0.03 mm (0.001 in) you're finished with the indexing procedure.

If the runout is above 0.03 mm (0.001 in) continue with step E below.

Remove the lug nuts and shift the position of the rotor one lug clockwise then reinstall the lug nuts and torque to 40 ft-lbs. (again for this indexing
process only).

Repeat steps D and E above until the rotor is positioned with the least amount of runout.

Step 3

Step 3: If new front brake rotors are not available, inspect, and if possible resurface the existing rotors.

Remove both front brake caliper assemblies.

Refer to section BR in the ESM for brake caliper assembly removal.
