Oil Pump Drive Shaft: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the intake manifold.
Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement.
2. Remove the oil pump drive bolt.
3. Use a lifting and turning motion to remove the oil pump drive gear.
4. Inspect the oil pump drive shaft for wear or damage.
Refer to Oil Pump Clean and Inspect.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Do not crack the oil pump drive shaft retainer.
