Flex Plate: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions. See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the transmission.
Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmission/Transaxle.
3. Remove the clutch assembly, if equipped.
Refer to Clutch in Transmission/Transaxle.
4. Remove the flywheel.
Refer to Engine Flywheel Removal.
5. Clean and inspect the flywheel.
Refer to Engine Flywheel Clean and Inspect.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the flywheel.
Refer to Engine Flywheel Installation.
2. Install the clutch assembly, if equipped.
Refer to Clutch in Transmission/Transaxle.
3. Install the transmission.
Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmission/Transaxle.
4. Connect the battery negative cable.
