Front Bumper Face Bar: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior Trim.
2. Remove the radiator air intake baffle. Refer to Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator in Body Front End.
3. Remove the nut and the bolt that retain the brace to the bumper impact bar.
4. Remove the nuts and the bolts that retain the bumper impact bar to the frame.
5. Remove the bumper impact bar from the vehicle.
6. Remove the license plate bracket, if equipped. Refer to License Bracket Replacement - Front
7. Remove the fascia from the impact bar. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the license plate bracket, if equipped. Refer to License Bracket Replacement - Front.
2. Install the fascia to the front bumper impact bar.
3. Install the bumper impact bar to the vehicle. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper.

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Note in Service Precautions.

4. Install the bolts and the nuts that retain the bumper impact bar to the frame. 

Tighten
Tighten the bumper impact bar to the frame bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

5. Install the bumper impact bar to the frame and bolts and nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the bumper impact bar to the frame bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

6. Install the nuts and the bolts that retain the bumper impact bars to the brace.
