Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Park Brake Cable Mounting Bracket
Removal Procedure
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
Release the tension on the cables by loosening the nut at the equalizer.
3. Disconnect the rear cables from the equalizer.
4. Remove the rear cables from the mounting bracket by depressing the retaining tabs and pulling rearward.
5. Remove the cable support bracket bolt.
6. Remove the cable support bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the cable support bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the cable support bracket bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the support bracket bolt to 17 Nm (12.6 ft. lbs.).
