Vacuum Brake Booster

Removal and Installation

Removal Procedure 

1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Remove the master cylinder away from the vacuum booster. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement.
3. Support the master cylinder.

4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum booster.
5. Remove the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning

Indicators.

6. Remove the pushrod retainer from the brake pedal pin.

7. Remove the stoplamp switch. Unsnap the switch from the brake pedal pin.
8. Remove the pushrod from the brake pedal pin.
