Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the crankshaft balancer.
2. Use a suitable prying tool to remove the crankshaft front oil seal.
3. Inspect engine front cover seal bore area for damage.
4. Inspect the crankshaft balancer seal area.
Installation Procedure

J35468 Cover Aligner/Seal Installer
1. Lubricate the exterior of the seal with clean engine oil.
2. Use the J35468 with a hammer in order to install the crankshaft front oil seal.
3. Inspect to ensure the crankshaft front oil seal is flush and square to the engine front cover.
4. Install the crankshaft balancer.
