Center Support: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure 

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the propeller shaft from the vehicle.
3. Remove the center bearing using the following steps:

1. Stand the propeller shaft on end in a press with the splined end of the shaft pointing up.
2. Support the center bearing by press bars.
3. Press the propeller shaft down on the splined end till the center bearing assembly is off the propeller shaft.

Installation Procedure 

1. Install the center bearing assembly and retainer (1) by pressing the center bearing onto the propeller shaft using the press.
2. Ensure that the center bearing is fully seated on the propeller shaft.

3. Install the propeller shaft.
4. Lower the vehicle and test drive.
