10. Remove the camshaft position sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement.
11. Remove the camshaft bolt.
12. Remove the camshaft sprocket and the timing chain.
Refer to Timing Chain and Sprockets Replacement.
13. Remove the camshaft retainer bolts.
IMPORTANT: When removing the camshaft, do not damage the camshaft bearings.
For the camshaft bearing removal procedure, refer to Camshaft Removal.
14. Remove the camshaft.
15. Remove the camshaft sprocket from the camshaft.
IMPORTANT: If a new camshaft is being installed, replace the valve lifters, and add new engine oil and a new oil filter.
16. Inspect the camshaft for wear or damage.
