Generator: Testing and Inspection
Noisy Generator
The following causes generator noise:

A loose drive pulley

Loose mounting bolts

Worn or dirty bearings

A worn stator
Do not disassemble the generator. Separating the frames will damage the slip ring end bearing. Generator service is limited to replacement. Refer to
Generator Replacement.
